PIT Count Volunteer Resources

Thank you for volunteering to help with the 2024 PIT Count!

The Purpose of the Okaloosa Walton Point in Time (PIT Count) is to obtain a snapshot census of people experiencing homelessness in our community on one night in January. It is a vital part of understanding the needs of unhoused people in our community so that we can allocate resources in the most effective way possible. It is also a great opportunity to raise awareness of the myriad challenges our unhoused neighbors face, hear personal experiences from those experiencing homelessness, and demonstrate the compassion and generosity of our community. Thank you for being a part of the 2023 count! Below you’ll find dates for training and information on how to use the Count with US app. Please read/watch all the way to the end!

Volunteer Training

Join us on Tuesday, January 16th at 11:00AM for a volunteer training session.

Getting Ready

We will be using the Counting Us App to conduct the count. So the first step is downloading the app. Our setupkey is Okwalton.

The next step is to review resources about how to utilize the app and conduct the survey. This video gives an overview of the Counting Us App.

We’ve also provided a cheat-sheet to help familiarize with the survey process:

The team lead for the area you signed up for will be in touch with more information about the day of the count and additional training opportunities.

Thank you again for your help with this important initiative. It is a critical part to ending homelessness in our community.
